adblockplus blocks download of hosts-file list from hpHosts

Hi,

I have found out that adblockplus for android is blocking the download of the hosts-file ad/tracking-servers list from hpHosts:

List-Adresses:
http://hosts-file.net/ad_servers.asp
http://updates.it-mate.co.uk/hphosts/ad_servers.asp

Both urls are blocked. I assume that it is a false positiv. But on my PC with Firefox adblockedge addon and same filterlist it isen't blocked. Is it hardcoded in adblockplus?

My speculation is that because ABP for Android is a local proxy server, it might block navigation from the address bar (a.k.a. "main_frame" or "document"), while ABP for all other platforms does not do this; then if there's some filter in EasyList that would match *ad_server* or something like that, both URLs would be blocked by ABP for Android and not by ABP for browsers.

To be absolutely sure I have installed adblockplus addon on my PC Firefox instead of adblockedge. On the PC adblockplus does not block the download of the hosts-file lists.

Then I have reinstalled adblockplus for android on my smartphone. Only pure Easylist filter was activated. It is still blocking the download of the hosts-file lists. The download is done with AdAway app for hosts-file management. Deactivating adblockplus temporary helps. Then the download is possible.

For a longer time now I do not trust adblockplus anymore. Therefore I use adblockedge addon on my PC and Notebook Firefox. With it I can use more filterlists. I am absolutely sure that blocking of this hosts-file lists from hpHosts is hardcoded inside adblockplus for android.

1.edge is adblock plus. edge's guys simply copied ABP and remove the acceptable ads. They didn't create anything.
2.check yourself the code of ABP for android and then be "absolutely sure"

Fanboy's Annoyance List
Fanboy's Social Blocking List
EasyPrivacy Tracking Protection List
Malware Domains List

Why not in adblockplus?

Are you talking about ABP for firefox ? what op.system ?

Together with the people of hpHosts site we have tested another downloadlink for the hosts-file list to make sure that it is not the name of the file (*ad_servers*). They provided me the following link:

It is still not possible to download the file when adblock plus for android is activ. When deactivating then the download works. BTW. I use 5 more hosts-file lists from other sites. No problem with them.

I would like to do some more testing. Please tell me where adblock plus for android is storing the downloaded filter list. Because I don't believe that it is the filter list rules which block the downloads.

You said in adblockedge can use more lists and in adblock plus no.

I asked you (and you didn't understand) which op.system. Android or windows (or other).
In windows, in ABP you can use all those lists you use in edge: it's simple, edge it's ABP, nothing else.
Are you talking about edge in android but as addon for firefox ?

And watch your language. When someone ask you some details is for your help and not to hear from you some hysterical response.

if you have some issue in adblock plus (not edge), you can file an issue on the bug tracker, providing all the steps to reproduce it and using a normal (not offensive) language.
