Filter comments

Post by denmarks »

I sometimes forget the purpose of a filter that I create. Is there a way to add a comment to a filter?

Example:
answers.yahoo.com##[id^="dmRosAdWrapper-"] comment here

I tried "!comment here" but it then leaves a blank area after removing the ad.

You could create your list, hosted on some server (dropbox, github, et). In that list you can use the comments.

see for example in easylist

Code: Select all

! Anti-Adblock
/ad-blocker.js
/adb_detector.

That would work but many are generated by the Element Hider add-on. It is too much trouble to have to move to another file after generating them.

If there is currently no such feature then Adblock should consider it.

For blocking and whitelisting rules, I can imagine a new option like $comment=<comment-with-no-comma>, but for hiding and hiding-whitelist rules it would be more difficult to extend the syntax to allow inline comments.
