I'm running Waterfox 56.0.4 and ABP 3.0.2. I want to make two simple filters to hide content but they don't work. I don't understand why adds are blocked but if I try to block yahoo drivel it won't work? I really don't care about fashion protest or what Madonna ate for lunch.

yahoo.com/entertainment/*
Custom Filters do not work
Re: Custom Filters do not work
Where do you see such ads ? provide steps, links, screenshots (upload pics at imgur.com, post here the links)
Re: Custom Filters do not work
It isn't an advertisement that I'm looking to block. I'm looking to block content on a Yahoo page that I don't want to see. I realize that isn't ABP's purpose but I don't know what other tool to use? I would have thought blocking the yahoo.com/entertainment/* would have blocked that page elements content?
Re: Custom Filters do not work
if you want to be helped provide the info requested above.
Re: Custom Filters do not work
Here are two examples. They all are either http://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/ or http://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/. They aren't adds but I still would like to block them. Is it possible using ABP or do you know of another program I should be looking at?

Re: Custom Filters do not work
try these filters
Code: Select all
##a[href*="yahoo.com/celebrity"]
##a[href*="yahoo.com/entertainment"]
||yahoo.com/entertainment
||yahoo.com/celebrity
Re: Custom Filters do not work
That's a partial success. Unfortunately, I have observed that Yahoo doesn't segregate their stories very well. Kim Kardashian's bikini wax can be under technology, law or sports. In most cases the picture and link is gone but the text remains.
