Block Yahoo Ad

Post by Jim hebert »

There is an ad on top of the Yahoo mail "inbox" and I can't get rid of it. Is there something I'm overlooking?

What filter subscription(s) are you using? You can find them in Adblock Plus preferences (press Ctrl+Shift+E).

I can't see any ads there using EasyList+EasyElement (tested German and UK Yahoo Mail).

Ok. How can I find out the address of that nuisance ad. I want to add it to that list on ctrl-alt-E so it will be blocked.

Jim, how about this,

Code: Select all

mail.yahoo.com#DIV(id^=slot_SW)
mail.yahoo.com#DIV(id=slot_MNW)
mail.yahoo.com#*(class$=_ad_slug)

I also detest yahoo shortcuts, added to alpha.

I entered all those sites but no luck. I have an older version of Yahoo. Maybe that's why it doesn't work.

@Jim hebert:

a) What filter subscription(s) are you using?
b) Can you post a screenshot of the ad (so we all know what you are talking about)?

To Ares:

I never knew about those filters until you asked. I added "The EasyList, EasyElement, and EasyPrivacy are 3 free separate adblocking subscriptions created & maintained by rick752 (yours truly) for Adblock Plus!" and now there are no more ads in Yahoo. Thanks to all of you.
