Is it possible to use the Adblock Plus subscription lists with Smoothwall as a content filter?

Unlikely. Adblock Plus filters assume quite a bit of context knowledge - something that a firewall doesn't have. So even if you converted the filter subscription into a format that Smoothwall can understand, it still wouldn't quite work.
