ABP broken - iron 9.0.600.0 - when GPU Accelerated activated

Post by mapx »

2 days ago I installed srware iron. Yesterday I noticed ABP dissapeared from the url line. Today I uninstalled ABP, delete the folder, installed again. Doesnt function. If I try to open options (for ABP extension), it remains in "loading ...".

I uninstalled again ABP, and I installed development build. Same issue.

Re: ABP broken with iron 9.0.600.0 (build 73000)

I discovered:

the new flags (u can activate with about:flags):

GPU Accelerated Compositing
GPU Accelerated Canvas 2D

do not work correctly (or its some incompatibility with ABP but also with NOTSCRIPTS extension) ; I disabled the 2 flags, and ABP works well

Sounds like something you should be reporting to Google or Iron developers. It's a bug in their experimental feature.

PS: I tried to reproduce the issue with Chrome 9.0 but without success - everything works for me. It could be an Iron-specific bug or it could be dependent on the graphics card used.

I think you only get this problem on platforms without good GPU acceleration, like it worked on a laptop with Vista and a video card powerful enough to run Aero, but not on a desktop with XP and low-quality integrated video.
