Return of the ads

Post by Floppy 312 »

With the change from adthwart to adblock, ads suddenly began appearing again in eltiempo.com . If you could do something to correct this, I would really appreciate it.

I cannot see any ads. Could you point me to the exact page and tell me where the ad is? Or even better - upload a screenshot to http://imageshack.us/.

Also, which filter lists are you subscribed to?

I'm subscribed to EasyList and the recommended filters.

Thanks. This page has no ads for me, I suspect that EasyList simply cannot be downloaded for you. Please go to Adblock Plus options and check what it says next to EasyList. Normally it should be something like "Last updated at ...". If it says that download failed, please go to https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/easylist.txt directly and check what error message shows up.

Hi Wladimir,

Thank you for the reply. EasyList is downloading just fine. It is updating correctly, both automatically and manually. This issue affects all my machines, so it is not configuration-specific (no browser sync either).

Ok, I can reproduce the issue as well now - only after clearing cache. It seems that the e-planning.net script is not always blocked. My guess is a timing issue, that script probably loads too early, before Adblock Plus knows what to block ("nice" side-effect of Chrome's multi-process architecture).
