I just noticed that AdBlock Plus for Firefox does a much better job at blocking commercials on videos than AdBlock Plus for Chrome does. AdBlock Plus for Firefox does a superb job - at least at Engadget.com - blocking 15-second commercials. I did not even know Engadget videos had ads until I watched them in Chrome.
I hope that AdBlock Plus for Chrome will eventually do as great at job at blocking those useless, annoying commercials.
Above all, thank you to the developers!
Firefox version is better at blocking ads in video
Re: Firefox version is better at blocking ads in video
Well, I just noticed somewhere on the Known Issues page that Chrome - by design - may never allow blocking ads on video. Oh well.
I guess this means that Firefox still rules the planet.

From what I read, I wouldn't hold my breath with Chrome. My theory is that Google engineers are largely where they like to be with extensions which means severely limited. Thus they can ensure greater control of baseline user experience.
