Filters auto update

Post by tonix »

I'm just wondering how the filters update are working.

My lists were not updated since last Saturday.

Does that mean that no changes were made to the lists, or it's simply failing to automatically update?

- EasyList + Liste FR by Lian
- Recommended filters for Google Chrome

EDIT : I checked the changelogs, and they were updated since last Saturday. I've used chrome for a few hours everyday since then...

It still haven't updated itself since Wednesday. Chrome have been used and opened/closed a few times since the 13th.

Subscriptions only update themselves after a set period of time, not on every occasion that the browser is opened; in the case of EasyList the update frequency is approximately once every five days, although behaviour in Chrome may be slightly different.

I'll let it go this time and see when it gets updated.

I often get ads where there were none before... and a manual update fixes the problem.

If you look at the changelog, they have been updated quite a lot in 48h.

Subscriptions are updated very frequently; however, for the sake of bandwidth they are only automatically downloaded by Adblock Plus after a certain period of time, as defined by the authors. In the case of EasyList this is approximately once every five days.
