As new content loads in Google Reader, some blocked ads take up a large amount of space for about 1 second before disappearing. Can this be done faster? As it is, when I'm scrolling through skimming articles, the ad doesn't collapse until after I've looked past it already, making whatever I'm looking at jump suddenly.
An example is the doubleclick.net iframes that are in ArsTechnica's RSS feed.
By the way, these ads never collapse when using the developer version of the extension.
Google Reader ad collapsing is delayed
Re: Google Reader ad collapsing is delayed
I want to add that sometimes these spaces fail to collapse using the standard version as well. After restarting Chrome they begin collapsing (slowly) again. I checked the update date for the filters and they are still 6 days old, so the restart did not fix it by updating rules. However, forcing ruleset updates will also fix the issue, while refreshing the page alone will not.
Re: Google Reader ad collapsing is delayed
With the new non-beta version, now this is sometimes happening.
Re: Google Reader ad collapsing is delayed
For your latest post: the issue has normally been fixed in the latest development build.

Nope, didn't fix it.
