Despite configuring proxy settings it won't work

Post by Fuck the ads! »

As advised I have changed the proxy port to local host and proxy port to 26571 on HTC desire hd android 2.3.5 but it still says waiting for traffic?
Any clue? It would be nice to get this working as I hate ads as much as anyone else.

Cheers

Same problem on my device Samsung Galaxy Ace.

It still says waiting for traffic. Also....does the WiFi always have to be switched on after changing the proxy settings?

First of all it will work only for Wi-Fi traffic. Then have you generated such traffic (opened a browser and visited some page)?

I have the same Samsung Galaxy Ace, with all the configured proxies and ports and I can't even get a successful search on Google. All pages are unavailable and, worse yet, all the ads on the apps are...

No, I have uninstalled ABP twice know and it is currently uninstalled and I still can't view ANY WEB PAGES through the browser. And Facebook says loading forever, then brings up a trouble loading screen.

Rebooting should fix this.

If you have uninstalled ABP, you may still need to go into settings/WiFi/[name of your wifi], then long hold the wifi name, and that should call up boxes to turn off the proxy or to go and delete the localhost and the number in the other proxy setting whose name I forget. Good luck!
