ABP only works after re-enabling it

Hello, I am here to ask for any help on this issue I have with ABP.
I've used the add-on for ages and it's worked well. Until today when I started to see that Youtube was playing ads before videos and am now seeing ads popping up on websites. I am using Firefox 18.0.1 and the latest version of ABP. I have tried to reinstall ABP, that did not work, I've reset Firefox, that did not work, but the only thing that works for me right now is to disable ABP and then enable it each time I open Firefox.
Any input for helping is appreciated.

Did it but the problem still persists. I cant even block them manually with right click as the option doesnt even appear.

i had the same prob. i re-installed FF and it worked perfectly...

reinstalled too but didnt fix anything; Ill try again later.

Maybe i have to restore firefox and remove adblock before uninstalling the browser?

im having problems with ads on both youtube and facebook that were never there before abp is acting up or wtf is going on

Seeing other threads that popped out recently, the problems comes from the avg toolbar. I disabled it and adblock works again.

heres what just worked for me:
go to the addon manager, go to "options", then "filter preferences". make sure "allow some non-intrusive ads" is NOT checked. enjoy.
