I've got the same problem. I'm on Sprint Galaxy Note II, rooted using cm10.1.

T-mo HTC ONE

can anyone confirm that disabling wifi, while ADB is enabled also solves problem.

If I have wifi on, ADB enabled, I can't send/receive mms. If I disable wifi, I can send mms.

same here. Wow. Thought it was a network issue for the longest time. Hope this gets fixed cause I like ABP, but MMS is more important...

Same here. If I run ABP, I get no MMS send or receive. It does not matter if I am running wifi or not. If I shut ABP down, I get MMS.

The log shows: 07-12 09:10:27.869 I/adblock.(2719): false: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net (null)

The picture/message just sits in sending forever. If I stop ABP, MMS returns to function. Text messages send fine.

Confirmed by multiple users over the course of 8 months and thousands of views. Do the developers consider this a bug or a feature??????

Can a mod please acknowledge this is being addressed?

***solution*** (for AT&T users switch your APN settings 'MMS Port: 8080'

Great news!! As like most of you, I had this issue... for a very long long time, I thought it was the ROMs, then modems, God only knows I tried everything! Then I came to this forum and noticed someone said MMS sends thru port 80! Being a network guy, I thought hey what other ports would likely be available... as there's usually more than one for A. security reasons and B. demand. So I set forth to research it. And found NOTHING! Lol

So instead I tried several "common" alternate 80 ports. And low and behold... 8080 takes the prize!!!

So go into your APN settings and your network that's currently checked and switch the port from port 80 to 8080.

This worked perfectly for me on AT&Ts network. It may work for other networks as well. I LOVE ABP... and having the power to block crap ads! Now I can still do it AND send/receive MMS.

Please take this knowledge to your favorite android forum ABP section or MMS issue section and share it!

....port 8080 let's you bypass ABP's port 80 filtering. This will let you receive MMS, but AT&T (and probably all other operators) does not allow sending MMS thru this port. So, it's a receive-only solution.

Solution: fix ABP

8080 sends and receives

AT&T allows the sending over port 8080 no problem. Take a look at your APN setting (I'd Google APN settings AT&T...) Could be that your proxy is old.

Mine are:
MMSC: hxxp://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 8080

Nope, 8080 will not send for me. It's defined OK, otherwise I would not be able to receive.

Are you using a CM 4.2 ROM? That's when I had to start using port 8080. Stock didn't require doing this. Do you have other APN defined? What "APN type"? I also have the CIngular WAP APN defined. Trust me, I've tried it all....except turing off ABP!

I can confirm that this is an ABP problem. I'm sure an exception could be built into the filter lists... How about a way to edit filters on our phones?

I can also confirm that the port 8080 workaround works on CM 10.1.2 on my skyrocket. Make sure you go to options and save CM users... it doesn't save automatically.

Thinking it must be yet another app doing similar packet filtering. I had another ad blocking app, AdFree, also installed. When I went to update it gave me a fatal error saying it was out of date. As they say, "there's yer sign!" Un-installed AdFree and now port 8080 works for sending MMS too. Ah, so nice after all these months to be able to stop taking $%^& from my iPhone buddies on this issue. :D

Yes, hopefully, ABP can create an exception in their filtering. It is an awesome app.

Sprint Network, Samsung S3,lates updates, ABP has to be turned off or you can not update PRL, Profile or anything else.

Using a rooted Moto X on AT&T with both the stock messaging app as well as Handcent. ABP is blocking my incoming AND outgoing messages. I can only send messages if I disable ABP or during a reboot when ABP hasn't yet been started.

Thanks,

Verizon GS3, AOKP ROM. Same problem - can only send MMS messages when AB+ is disabled.
