Status bar not displaying correctly in Thunderbird

When Adblock plus is activated only, the status bar in Thunderbird does not display anymore informations about connections to email server accounts. New emails still come in though.
This happens since today on two computers under seven ultimate.

The problem happens after a computer start. Deactivating Adblock plus solves the problem. Reactvating Adblock does not show the probem again but restarting the computer when Adblock plus is activated shoes the problem again.

Same exact problem here late this afternoon, 1/17/14. I would have never thought Adblock was the culprit but disabling it fixes the problem, as noted above. I noticed that the 2-computer network icon for the "Offline/Online" switch, normally placed at the left side of the footer/status toolbar was missing - the "Unread - Total" messages box was in it's place instead of at the right side of the status toolbar.

THANKS for posting this temporary "fix"! Was driving me nuts!

Same issue, fixed by disabling. Running Win 7 64, T-bird 24.20. Bug started after the auto update a couple of days ago. Hope this extra info is of help. (Though, probably not )

Just another "me too". TB 24.2.0 on Arch Linux. Weirdly, un/re-installing ABP works, including after one restart of TB -- but problem's back at the next restart of TB.

Try this; it worked for me, and seems to have resolved the problem. In TB 24.2.0 with Adblock Plus 2.4.1, I went to the wrench icon for Adblock in extensions view of add-ons manager ("Change this add-on's options"). There, I unchecked "Show in status bar" and restarted TB (but no restart of Windows XP). Now the usual status messages about downloading mail are showing again.

Charlie W. Tried that is a no go. You can disable ADP restart Thunderbird re enable and all is well for a little while then for no reason the status bar is messed up yet again. Most annoying. I hope this gets fixed soon.

I have a similar problem in the modul bar in bottom of thunderbird window.
2.4 version fix the trouble.

Problem present in TB 24.2.0, ABP 2.4.1

EDIT: It happens not on the first start of TB after opsys reboot, but on the second and subsequent start of TB.

EDIT2: adblock edge seems to do the same thing.

This issue is also present in Thunderbird Beta (27.0b1) and ABP 2.4.1

It seem to be fixed by reinstalling ABP 2.4

EDIT: I just removed it from TB, d/l 2.4.1 and installed it and it broke on the second TB start.
EDIT2: Oh, I just removed 2.4.1 and installed a 2.4.0 that I had d/l'ed back on 12-26-14 and it works fine.
