[496]YouTube videos freezing after 4 seconds in Chrome/HTML5

This just started happening yesterday. All YouTube videos hang after 4 seconds in and then resume at around 8 secs. No other freezing for the rest of the video.

When I disable Ablock Plus extension, the problem goes away. All other extensions are disabled.

I'm using the YouTube HTML5 player.

Chrome 34.0.1847.137 m
Windows 8.1
Adblock Plus 1.8.1

Having exactly the same problem, except Win 7. Video hangs at three second mark, resumes at 11 second mark. Audio not affected. Disabling AdBlock Plus, problem goes away.

Yeah I'm having the same problem too. Both on my Surface Pro Windows 8 and my desktop Win 7.
It freezes for a good 6 or so seconds at the homepage too.

If I use (the competition!) Ad Block alone, it hiccups very very briefly at that same spot but for the most part keeps going normally. For now I'm using AdBlock alone on youTube, and AdBlock Plus everywhere else.

Thank God others are having this issue. My issue is exactly the same as you all above. I load Youtube and it freezes for around 4-5 seconds before all the thumbnails load, during this time the page is completely unresponsive - every time a new page loads or a new playlist is clicked is does the same thing. Disabling ABP removes this issue entirely. I haven't tried any other ad blockers.

Yes, it seems adblock plus is indeed causing the freeze if you go to youtube.
It freeze only at the beginning for around 3-5 secs when you acces youtube, after that everything works fine.

When adblock plus is disabled, accesing youtube dont freeze at the beginning anymore.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Freezes around the 0:03 second mark and hangs until about the 0:06 second mark. If I disable AdBlock Plus this problem goes away. I hope they fix this sooner than later.

OP here. I just noticed that the YouTube homepage and subscription pages freeze for up to 10 seconds on first load - CPU usage 100%. Disabling ABP solves the issue.

Disabled EasyList, updated EasyList, re-enabled EasyList. Issue resolved for me.
