Since I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 (hence to Firefox 12.0),
I experienced massive memory leaks with Firefox:
after a few hours, Firefox eats up 2GiB of memory,
causing a lot of swap and forcing me to kill it.
I noticed that disabling Adblock Plus solved the problem.
Interestingly enough, I also noticed that re-enabling Adblock and disabling Flashblock [1] also solved the problem.
On the flashblock website, it is adviced to "Turn off Object Tabs in the Adblock options", which I could not find.
Anyway, may be there is a smoother way for Adblock to avoid this nasty interaction?

- Click the Adblock Plus icon.
- Open the Options submenu.
- Click "Show tabs on Flash and Java".
You can type about:memory in the address bar and press Enter to get details on memory usage.pchampin wrote:Firefox eats up 2GiB of memory

Wow, I didn't know that one. Thanks again; I'll have a look if the problem comes again.Gingerbread Man wrote:You can type about:memory in the address bar and press Enter to get details on memory usage.
