I am not sure which software to download since I am using an older operating system on this mac (os X 4.11) and had to get the 3 year old version of firefox that works with this, 3.6.6. What AdBlock add on can i download that will work best with my slightly out of date equipment? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do not use Firefox 3.6.6. It is full of security vulnerabilities that put your computer at risk.

Install TenFourFox instead. It's an up-to-date third-party build of Firefox that works on Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5. It's intended for PPC and may be too buggy on Intel processors. You should be able to use the latest version of Adblock Plus with it.
