Latest ABP or filters slowing some web sites

Post by andyross63 »

I noticed, starting right around January 12, that some web sites were very sluggish and slow to display. These included community.tablotv.com and forums.xfinity.com, and even my modem at 192.168.100.1! After some testing, disabling AdBlock on them fixed the problem and they are very fast. This affected both Firefox and Edge on Windows.

I have this issue too. Many websites are significantly slower or even unusable with the extension activated.

Doing some more testing, and I notice that when it is stalled, the ABP icon is also more or less frozen. I'm not sure if there is some sort of deadlock happening somewhere in ABP. On the Xfinity community site, I did try turning various filters on and off, but none seemed to make a difference.

According to some reports, it is also causing major problems on YouTube.

Just a note that there is a fix coming as soon as it passes some of the add-on site checks:

I can report the new 3.22.1 update fixes this problem.
